    Read our cycling and walking tips, depending on what mode of transport you use. Pollution levels within overland trains in London are many times lower than those on underground trains.

    If you have to drive, close windows and vents when driving along busy roads or sitting in queuing traffic.

    If you work in an office or building close to a major road, ask the building supervisors what actions have been taken to minimise the infiltration of pollution into the building. Buildings with mechanical ventilation should be fitted with effective inlet filers.
