“The new monitor will give us visibility of air pollution levels on Lewisham Way. Ashmead Primary School is on the North side of this heavily congested road and Lewisham college on the South side, so large numbers of children and young people spend their days in this area. Children, parents, students and teachers are also exposed to high levels of air pollution as they travel to and from school and college. Visibility of pollution levels will help spread the message of this invisible danger to health. The accurate and up-to-date data from the new monitor will enable students, parents and communities to work with Lewisham council on measures to reduce air pollution, and build support for the Mayor’s programme to reduce air pollution across London. ”
